Top 9 Foods That Damage Your Teeth: Soda

Common Teeth Whitening Myths: Bleaching Teeth is Dangerous

How Long Does Dental Anesthesia Last?

We work extremely hard to ensure that we treat the whole patient, which means that we care deeply not just about correcting a significant oral health problem, but also about promoting good oral health care at home. The American Dental Association has identified nine types of foods as the most damaging to our teeth. These foods promote acid-producing bacteria, break down enamel, and/or can lead to decay and disease if not used in moderation.

Number One: Soda

As many people know, soda can be incredibly harmful to your teeth, particularly if sipped throughout the day on a regular basis. Soda is high in sugar, which gives acid-producing bacteria something to feed on. The acid produced by the bacteria in our mouths can degrade our enamel, which cannot grow back. Carbonated beverages themselves are also acidic. Therefore, soda can have a significantly problematic effect if not used in moderation and immediately washed down with water.
