It’s not a surprise that people in America love soda. Coca Cola and Pepsi are multi-billion dollar companies and have developed a strong brand and loyal following over decades. However, there are many dental health problems that can arise from drinking too much sugar and acidic beverages, as dental health professionals have known for years.
Water is a much better solution for your teeth, as it has a neutral pH of 7.0 and doesn’t contain sugar. But while we know that water is a great choice, many of our patients would like something a little more interesting to drink. Here are a few infused waters that may be a good alternative to sugary sodas:
Strawberry, Lime, Cucumber, and Mint
– 1 cup sliced strawberries
– 1 cup sliced cucumbers
– 2 limes, sliced
– 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
– Ice cubes
– Water
– 6 cups water
– 2 mandarin oranges, cut into wedges
– a handful of blueberries
– ice
– 1 pomegranate or ¼ cup pomegranate seeds
– ¼ cup fresh tarragon
– 1 quart water
